About Us

UniBooks is a second-hand textbook search and matching platform built specifically for university students in Taiwan.

Our Mission

Taiwan's university students face the same challenge every semester: required textbooks cost thousands of NTD, used for just one semester, then pile up on shelves. Searching for used copies on Facebook groups and Dcard means wading through a flood of unstructured posts. Sellers don't know who needs their books; buyers can't find those who are selling.

UniBooks exists to solve this. We use an ISBN-structured book database to bring all sellers of the same textbook onto a single page, letting students search, compare prices, and connect in minutes.

Core Values

One Book, One Page

Unlike general e-commerce platforms which treat each listing as a separate product, UniBooks groups every seller of the same textbook onto one shared book page. Whether there are 1 or 10 sellers offering "Calculus 8th Edition", you can compare conditions and prices on one screen.

Instant Out-of-Stock Alerts

The book you need is not yet for sale? Activative notification. When someone lists it, you will be the first to know. The page also publicly shows "N people waiting" — a buying signal that draws in sellers.

Always Free for Campus Meetups

Students at the same university swap books on campus or in the library and complete transaction. Zero fees, zero middlemen, zero overhead.

Students Trust, edu.tw Credential

Students verify their .edu.tw email. Every semester re-validation we confirm: everyone using the transaction features is a real student.

Transparent Conditions

Sellers grade books on a straightforward four-tier system — Like New, No Mark, Highlights, Damaged — with real photos uploaded. The buyer sees exactly what they are getting.

Why only textbooks?

Books — particularly textbooks — are identified by ISBN, making it possible to group listings on one page and create a functional search Experience. A specialized market nurtures this core differentiator every single search.

The Team

UniBooks is built and operated by the CycleUni team, a group of computer science students who lived through semester after semester of "do you still have this book?"

The frontend is Angular and the backend runs on Cloudflare Workers. The source is open on GitHub for anyone to read.
